Utah transfer Davison calls the Hogs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Utah infielder Karlie Davison has joined Arkansas Head Coach Courtney Deifel and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Davison spent the last two seasons at Utah playing in 96 games with 87 starts, primarily at shortstop. This past season, she hit .294 with five doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI to go with 15 runs scored and five stolen bases over 40 games as she helped the Utes reach the NCAA Tournament. She enjoyed a hot start to her sophomore season, hitting .500 through the team’s first 12 games with at least one hit in 11 of those 12 games before finishing February hitting .421 for the month.

As a freshman in 2023 she started all 56 games she played in at shortstop for a Utah team that reached the Women’s College World Series. Her first season produced a.203 batting average with three doubles, 11 home runs and 32 RBI along with 25 runs scored. Her 11 homers led the squad during her first season. She became the first Ute ever to earn Pac-12 Player and Freshman of the Week honors after hitting three home runs and driving in five runs over two days at Oregon.

Out of Chadwick High School in Torrance, Calif., Davison was a Top 50 recruit in the 2022 class. She was a four-year starter on her varsity team and a three-time team captain. She comes from an athletic family with her dad, Scott, being a fourth-round selection by the Montreal Expos in 1988 before an 11-year professional career that saw him reach the major leagues with Seattle. Both her grandfathers – Ralph Davison and Dave Marsden – also played professional baseball.
