Vrba Advances in Consolation, Two Other Razorbacks Fall

TULSA, Okla. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team continued main draw action today at the ITA All-American Championships as three members of the squad participated in consolation matches.

Lukas Palovic and Jakub Vrba fell in their singles main draw matches yesterday, causing them to fall down to the consolation bracket. Vrba also competed in the doubles main draw with teammate Connor Smillie and him dropping their match against No. 4 Pedrico Kravstov and Rolland De Ravel of TCU.

No. 27 Palovic matched up with No. 35 Nidunjianzan (Princeton) in the Round of 32 in the consolation bracket, falling 2-6, 3-6, to end his run in the tournament. No. 127 Vrba faced off with Jefferson (Florida) and won 6-4, 6-2 to move onto the Round of 16 of consolation.

No. 25 Smillie/Vrba fell to Frusina/Montsi (Texas A&M today, 2-6, 3-6, to end their time at the ITA All-American Championships.

No. 35 Top Nidunjianzan (Princeton) def. No. 27 Lukas Palovic (Arkansas), 6-2, 6-3

Alexander Frusina/Khololwam Montsi (Texas A&M) def. No. 25 Connor Smillie/Jakub Vrba (Arkansas), 6-2, 6-3
