Vrba Advances to Round of 32 at NCAA Singles Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 123 Jakub Vrba opened the 2025 NCAA Singles Championships with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 win over No. 49 Peter Benjamin Privara (Harvard) to advance to the Round of 32.

Vrba becomes the first Razorback to advance past the Round of 64 since 2022 (Alex Reco) and looks to become the first Hog since 2018 (Jose Salazar) to advance to the Round of 16.

After a back-and-forth first set, Vrba prevailed to take the opening set, 6-4, while Privara bounced back to claim the second set. The match came down to the third set, where Vrba earned a dominating 6-1 victory to advance to the Round of 32.

Vrba will take on No. 92 Luca Pow (Wake Forest) tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT.
