Vrba Battles to Make Main Draw, Hog Duo Wins Consolation Match

TULSA, Okla. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team had a successful day four at the ITA All-American Championships. The Razorbacks had three players participating on Tuesday as the qualifying rounds of the tournament finished up.

No. 127 Jakub Vrba continued his singles qualifying play as he faced No. 100 Andrew Delgado, completing a comeback to win 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. This victory marked Vrba’s second straight upset in the tournament and also pushed him into the main draw for singles that begins on Wednesday. He moves on to face No. 21 Paul Inchauspe (Princeton) in the Round of 64 of the singles main draw at 9 a.m. CT.

No. 50 Padgham/Weintraub earned a ranked win over No. 69 Kroslak/Prat (Miami) in the qualifying doubles consolation draw, 4-6, 6-3, 12-10. The duo will face Doig/Komagata (Tulsa), with the time still to be determined.
