Wargo-Kearney Promoted to Associate Head Volleyball Coach

FAYETTEVILLE – Megan Wargo-Kearney, who enters her third season with Arkansas volleyball, has been promoted to associate head coach as announced by head coach Jason Watson on Thursday morning.

“Continuity within our staff is important to growing our program,” Watson said. “Megan has, and will continue, to play a big part in our development of our program.  I’m thankful for her commitment to our current and future student-athletes.”

Wargo-Kearney joined the Razorback coaching staff in 2017 eight seasons as an assistant coach at Truman State University where she helped guide the Bulldogs to six NCAA Tournament appearances and two conference tournament titles.

Since Wargo-Kearney made the move to Fayetteville, the program has seen four Razorbacks earn AVCA All-South Region Awards as well as an All-SEC recognition. She also assisted in the growth of Hailey Dirrgl, who was named the 2018 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year, only the fourth in program history.

“The Razorback volleyball program, athletic department, and Fayetteville community have captured my heart, and I’m thrilled to continue working alongside Jason,” Wargo-Kearney said. “I strongly believe in the values we have instilled in this program and the athletes that compete here. SEC volleyball provides opportunities for our student-athletes to excel every time the step onto the court, and I look forward to what lies ahead for our program!”

The Razorbacks will open the 2019 season on August 30 as they host Northwestern State, Little Rock and Montana State as a part of the Arkansas Classic to be held on Friday and Saturday.
