
Women’s ITA All-American Championships Pre-Qualifying Round Day Two Results
Members of the Arkansas women’s tennis team continued competition today at the ITA All-American Championships. They will continue play through the week at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
In the singles division, Anet Koskel started competition for the Hogs facing off against Wenfei, Yu from Baylor. Koskel came up short and lost in straight sets, 7(7)-6(5) and 6-2.
Later this afternoon, Katarina Pavlechova took the court against Julia Millan for singles. Pavlechova started out hot and took the first set 6-2, she carried her momentum over into the second set and took it 6-1 to win the match. Pavlechova return to the court against Alexia Jacobs from the University of Washington later this week.
In the round of 16, Koskel and Carolina Gomez took the court against Audrey Spencer and Nao Nishino from Ohio State University in doubles. The Hogs lost in straight sets, 6-4, and 6-2. The pair of Razorbacks will be back in action later this week.
Qualifying rounds will begin tomorrow on Monday, Sept. 22, and continue through Tuesday, Sept. 23. The main draw will then begin on Wednesday, Sept. 24 and continue through Sunday, Sept. 28.
