Women’s Tennis Sweeps Missouri State in Doubleheader

Arkansas women’s tennis started their season off with two wins against Missouri State. The Razorbacks won both matches with 4-0 scores.

During the first match, the Hogs struck quick, taking 2 of the 3 doubles matches to go up 1-0 early. Jimena Gomez-Alonso and Brooke Schafer def. Elsie Jackson and Raluca Puscas, 6-1. Then Carolina Gomez and Anet Koskel took down Lucy Latham and Matilde Ercoli, 6-1.

The Razorbacks didn’t let up, they won 3 singles matches to seal their 4-0 victory. Katarina Pavlechova def. Leni Eichner 6-0, 6-0. Then Anet Koskel took down Matilde Ercoli, 6-0, 6-1. Sealing the victory, Alexandra Panagiotidou def. Elsie Jackson, 6-2, 6-2.

After a break, the Razorbacks returned to action taking 2 of the 3 singles matches again. This time Katarina Pavlechova and Alexandra Panagiotidou took down Leni Eichner and Billur Gonlusen, 6-1. Then Jimena Gomez-Alonso and Brooke Schafer took down Elsie Jackson and Raluca Puscas again, 6-1.

The Hogs brought the heat and won 3 singles matches to close it out. Anet Koskel def. Elsie Jackson, 6-1, 6-1. Then Carolina Gomez took down Billur Gonlusen, 6-0, 6-3. Alexandra Pangiotidou closed out the match taking down Leticia Caldararo, 6-1, 6-3.
