Wyckoff Named Preseason All-American by D1Softball

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas softball utility player Kailey Wyckoff has been named a Preseason Second-Team All-American by D1 Softball, the publication announced on Wednesday morning.

She joins Bri Ellis (2024, Second Team), Nia Carter (2024, Second Team) Hannah Gammill (2023, Second Team), Chenise Delce (2023, Second Team), Danielle Gibson (2022, Second Team) and Hannah McEwen (2020, Second Team) as the only Arkansas players selected to D1Softball’s Preseason All-America teams since the publication’s inception in 2020.

Wyckoff arrives in Fayetteville after transferring from Texas Tech following the 2024 season. She posted a .407 batting average with 12 doubles, seven home runs and a career-high 35 RBI to earn First-Team All-Big 12 honors while with the Red Raiders in 2024. The Katy, Texas product also recorded 15 multi-hit games and a team-best 24-game reached-base streak. As a freshman in 2023, Wyckoff burst onto the scene, becoming just the second individual conference award winner in Texas Tech history, being named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and earning Second-Team All-Big 12 recognition. She finished her first season hitting .393 with a .740 slugging percentage thanks to 17 doubles, nine home runs and five triples. She drove in 31 runs and posted 14 multi-hit games with 10 multi-RBI games.

During her two seasons at Texas Tech, Wyckoff appeared all over the field for the Red Raiders, with nine or more starts at five different positions. She appeared in 51 games as a catcher, 24 games in right field, 12 games in left field, 10 games as a designated player and nine games at first base. Her career batting average of .400 ranks fourth among all players with multiple seasons of collegiate playing experience at the Power 4 level and 15th nationally among all Division I players.

Arkansas has garnered preseason rankings of No. 13, No. 10 and No. 13 in the Softball America, D1 Softball and ESPN/USA Softball Preseason Top 25 Polls ahead of the 2025 season. The Razorbacks open the 2025 campaign in San Marcos, Texas, at the Texas State Tournament (Feb. 6-8). The Razorbacks will face tournament host Texas State on Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. in the season opener. Arkansas will then return the following day to face Lipscomb (1:15 p.m.) and Bradley (3:30 p.m.) before concluding the tournament slate with Bradley (10 a.m.) and San Deigo (12:30 p.m.) on Feb. 8.

The Razorbacks have won two of the last four regular-season SEC titles. They are coming off a 37-18 mark in 2024, which featured their seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and fifth national seed, all of which have come under head coach Courtney Deifel’s guidance.
