100 Seasons of Arkansas Baseball

While 1897 might be a year most of us only read about in history books, it is a date that the Arkansas Razorbacks live every day. It is the first season of Arkansas Baseball. Few schools in America enjoy as rich a history on the diamond as that of the Arkansas Razorback baseball program.

Baseball fans are different. They are nostalgic, remembering where they were when the Hogs first hired Norm DeBriyn in 1970 and again when we welcomed Dave Van Horn in 2003. Our fans were there when Arkansas moved from the Southwest Conference to the Southeastern Conference in 1992, and they helped us celebrate in 2021 when the Razorbacks won the program’s third league title.

10 College World Series appearances, including back-to-back trips in 2018 and 2019 (postseason not held in 2020) for the first time in program history, and 243 all-time Major League Baseball draft picks have given fans of all ages something to cheer about.

And speaking of our fans, thank you to the hundreds of thousands of fans who have poured through the turnstiles to watch a perfect double play or a long, game-winning bomb over the left field wall.

Celebrating its 100th season of play in 2022, Arkansas will embark on its 75th consecutive campaign (after eight early seasons of non-varsity sponsorship and a program discontinuation from 1930 to 1946) on the diamond. Join us in the celebration and enjoy ballpark promotions that include the return of some of the most revered Razorback Baseball traditions, alumni appearances, a wide array of interactive features inside the ballpark and out, including opportunities to vote for the program’s all-time best players and walk-up songs, submissions of your favorite Razorback Baseball memories, access to special experiences, and much more.

Pick up some great new gear as well. A commemorative logo has been created for fans to remember where they were in 2022. Designed by the University of Arkansas Athletics Department team, headed by AJ Enloe, the diamond-shaped logo features the recognizable Old English A over a large 100 Seasons callout. Also present is the date, 1897, reminding players and fans alike, how connected we all are through the love of our team.

The logo will be featured on the honorary first pitch baseballs and made available on merchandise at Baum-Walker Stadium, the Hog Heaven store in the North endzone of the football stadium, the Hog Heaven store at the Northwest Arkansas Mall and online.

Be sure to follow our team on social media for exciting new experiences throughout the Centennial Season.

See you at the ballpark!
