100 Seasons of Arkansas Baseball on Hogs+
To help kick off the 100th season of Arkansas Razorback baseball this week, we’re taking a look back over the last century in a two-part documentary exclusively on Hogs+.
Legendary coach Norm DeBriyn talks about what it took to put Arkansas baseball on the map in his early years as the Hogs’ skipper. DeBriyn took a program that had never been to the NCAA Tournament to the Tournament 15 times, including four College World Series appearances, and earned numerous league titles along the way. Part one of the documentary includes never-before-told stories from DeBriyn’s and Arkansas’ first-ever CWS team in 1979, what it was like to recruit Dave Van Horn the baseball player, how Baum Stadium became a reality to one of college baseball’s gems and more.
In the second installment of the documentary, we explore coach Dave Van Horn’s journey as a Razorback – both as a student-athlete and as a coach. We highlight moments over the last 20+ years that watched the Razorbacks ascend into a national power, including Brady Toops’ home run in the NCAA Regional, the 2018 CWS runner-up season and a pair of Golden Spikes Award winners in Andrew Benintendi and Kevin Kopps.
Part 1 will be available on Opening Day (Feb. 18) with Part 2 available next week. To become a Hogs+ member and get access to exclusive Razorback content click here.
