Arkansas Falls to No. 3 Alabama on the Road
The No. 8 Gymbacks had a huge SEC road test on Friday and fell to the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide 197.950-196.900.
The home team outscored Arkansas on each event, but the Gymbacks did claim at least a share of a top three position on all of them. Hailey Klein had a great night in the all-around with a score of 39.450, which placed third and was a new career high. Morgan Price came in fourth all-around with a score of 39.300.
Klein took third on vault as well with a score of 9.900, and she and Morgan Price shared the beam title with a matching mark of 9.900. Morgan scored 9.925 on bars in the first rotation, which held on for a third-place finish. Lauren Williams’ 9.900 on floor was good for a tie in third place.
The Gymbacks are now 5-4 on the season and are 2-2 in SEC competition.
Bars
Joscelyn Roberson delivered a solid routine in the lead-off spot that went 9.800, which was matched by Hailey Klein up second. Leah Smith then earned a 9.825 to pace the Gymbacks midway through the lineup. Avalon Campbell was up fourth and put down a great routine, complete with stick, that scored 9.900 for Arkansas and is a new career high for her. Cucci earned the Gymbacks’ third 9.800 in the fifth position, bringing Morgan Price to anchor. She showed her normal consistency on bars and stuck the landing for a 9.925, the highest score of the rotation for Arkansas. The Gymbacks finished the event with a score of 49.250.
Vault
Cami Weaver opened the rotation with a stuck Yurchenko full that scored 9.875. Ja’Leigh Lang scored 9.750 up second, and Cucci earned a 9.825 in third. Klein scored 9.900 in the fourth position with a stuck 1.5, keeping up her hot streak on the event. Williams scored 9.725 up fifth, and Morgan Price closed the rotation with a 9.675. The Gymbacks got a 49.075 total on vault.
Floor
Hailey Klein started the floor rotation with a solid routine that went 9.850, and Morgan Price followed with a 9.800. Smith delivered a nice routine that went 9.850 to wrap up the first half of the floor lineup for Arkansas. Williams got the back three started out strong with a 9.900 routine. Following a 9.125 for Frankie Price, Roberson anchored well with a 9.875, which brought Arkansas’ floor total to 49.275.
Beam
Arkansas’ first three beam scores built as they went with a 9.800 from Madison Gustitus, 9.825 from Priscilla Park and 9.900 from Klein. Cucci went 9.725 up fourth, and Morgan Price was fifth in the rotation. She recovered well for the Gymbacks and stuck her landing for a 9.900. Roberson concluded the rotation with a 9.850 and Arkansas posted a total of 49.275 on beam.

Arkansas returns to Bud Walton Arena next Friday, Feb. 20 to face Kentucky at 7:15 p.m. It will be the team’s Empowerment Meet and is set to stream live on SEC Network+.
