Arkansas Finishes Eighth at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic
ATHENS, Ga. – No. 17 Arkansas Women’s Golf’s regular season has concluded, as Head Coach Shauna Taylor’s Hogs took eighth at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Arkansas will not play again until April 11, when the 2022 SEC Women’s Golf Championship tees off in Birmingham, Alabama. SEC rival South Carolina won the 2022 Liz by eight strokes, carding a 288 on the final day to separate itself from second place Texas A&M. Polly Mack of Alabama went wire-to-wire on the University of Georgia Golf Course, and ended up at three-under, four strokes ahead of all others.
Kajal Mistry and Gio Fernandez led the Hogs in their final regular season tournament, both earning a share of 16th place. Mistry, who came into the day in the top six, carded a six-over on the day, while Fernandez moved up nine spots following her one-over 73. Fernandez fired two 73s at the event, both career bests.
Junior Ela Anacona finished tied for 39th in the regular season finale, carding a 76 (+4) over the Liz’s final 18 holes. Anacona fired two birdies, four bogeys and a double on the day. Miriam Ayora finished tied for 52nd (78-79-77—234), while Julia Gregg finished 66th (76-84-79—239).
