Arkansas Gymnastics Set for National Semifinal on Thursday

The Gymbacks make their return to the biggest stage in the sport on Thursday evening as they are set to compete in the second semifinal at the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth.

Arkansas is making its 10th team appearance at the NCAA championships and the second in head coach Jordyn Wieber’s tenure. The Gymbacks entered the postseason field as the No. 9 seed, the highest since 2010 and tied for the highest in program history.

In their last team appearance in Fort Worth in 2024, the Razorbacks finished seventh of eight with a score of 196.475. Arkansas’ highest team finish at NCAAs came in 2009, when they advanced to the second day of competition – then called the Super Six – and came in fifth. In the current format, the top two teams from each semifinal advance to the national final, slated for Saturday, April 18 at 3 p.m.

Arkansas will compete with No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 UCLA and No. 13 Minnesota at 8 p.m. CT at Dickies Arena on Thursday, April 16. No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Florida, No. 6 Georgia and No. 7 Stanford are set to compete in the afternoon semifinal at 3:30 p.m.

Individual titles and All-American honors will be determined on Thursday, combining scores from both sessions. The AAI Award – presented to the top senior gymnast in the country – will also be presented on Thursday evening, with Arkansas’ Morgan Price among the seven finalists.

Both semifinal sessions will be broadcast live on ESPN2, along with a Team Stream online option, in which Arkansas will be grouped with UCLA. Samantha Peszek, Aly Raisman and John Roethlisberger will provide commentary on ESPN2 with Taylor Davis as sideline reporter. Live scoring will be available via Virtius.
