Arkansas Ranked No. 17 In Preseason Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — With eight returners from last year’s team bolstered by the addition of five newcomers, the University of Arkansas gymnastics team checks in at No. 17 in the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) preseason coaches poll, released Sunday.

The Razorbacks went 12-12, including 4-3 in league action, placing sixth at the SEC Championship and finishing third at the NCAA Iowa City Regional this past season. They finished the season ranked No. 20 in the nation. The season was highlighted by top-10 wins over No. 4 Alabama and No. 9 Auburn in back-to-back weeks.

All eight Southeastern Conference teams are ranked in the top 21 of the preseason coaches poll, including five in the top 10 and three in the top five. Arkansas will face all seven other SEC teams this season, including No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, and No. 19 Missouri at home.

Arkansas will face No. 8 Auburn, No. 9 Georgia and No. 21 Kentucky on the road and also travel to No. 4 UCLA and No. 28 Michigan State in nonconference action. Arkansas will host San Jose State, as part of its Senior Day meet, and they are receiving votes in the preseason poll.

Arkansas will also be hosting an NCAA Regional on April 1 for the first time since 2014 and for the fifth time in program history.

Ticket packages start at $25 for general admission, while fans can also purchase reserved season tickets for $40. The season-ticket package includes a ticket for all five regular-season home meets. Single-meet tickets will go on sale Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
