Arkansas Women's Golf Well Represented at Walmart NW Arkansas Championship

ROGERS, Ark. – The Arkansas women’s golf program will be represented by six current and former Razorbacks at this weekend’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G.

The LPGA Tour event will run from Sept. 19-21 at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas.

Current junior and reigning NCAA champion Maria José Marin received a sponsor exemption for the second straight year. The Cali, Colombia native finished T-17 in last year’s tournament. José Marin made the cut at two majors last year: The Women’s U.S. Open and The Amundi Evian Championship.

Five former Razorbacks will join José Marin on the course. Kendall Todd, a member of last year’s squad that finished in last year’s NCAA quarterfinals, won the Monday qualifier at Blessings Golf Club with a 6-under 66. 13-time LPGA Tour winner and Razorback legend Stacy Lewis, who announced her retirement on Wednesday, will play in her final Walmart NW Arkansas Championship appearance. Brooke Matthews, who finished T-14 last week at the Kroger Queen City Championship, is making her return to Northwest Arkansas alongside pros Gaby Lopez and Maria Fassi.

Golf Channel will provide live coverage in the afternoon on each day of the tournament. Spectator information can be found at nwachampionship.com.

The live leaderboard is available at LPGA.com.
