Benton Earns Invite to ANWA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas senior Kaylee Benton broke into the ranks of the top collegiate players in the nation with a selection to the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur organizers announced today.

Benton joins Razorback teammates Maria Fassi and Dylan Kim whose selections were announced in late January.

The 72-player event takes place the week before the Masters Tournament in April, and features 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut to 30 players taking place after 36 holes. The first two rounds will take place on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 5. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 6 and will feature the competitors who made the cut.

NBC Sports will broadcast three hours of live coverage and the Golf Channel’s “Live From The Masters” will provide coverage of the later rounds.

The World Amateur Golf Rankings list Fassi as the No. 9 amateur and the top Mexican amateur in the world. Kim is ranked No. 19 overall while Benton comes in at No. 90 overall.

NCAA Championships
The University of Arkansas and Blessings Golf Club are the proud hosts of the 2019 NCAA Women’s and Men’s National Championships.
