Ryan Snider was named a volunteer assistant coach for Arkansas gymnastics prior to the 2015 season after spending one season as a team manager. Snider primarily coaches the #Gymbacks on vault, while he also assists with uneven bars and floor exercise.
In 2016, Arkansas scored a 49.000 or better on vault in 11-of-13 meets, ending the campaign with a 49.048 average on the apparatus. The final RQS of 49.160 finished the year 11th in the nation despite a 9.950 start value. The Razorbacks reached a season-high of 49.275 at No. 4 Alabama on Jan. 22 in the team’s first-ever victory in Tuscaloosa.
Snider guided Amanda Wellick to NACGC/W Regular Season Second Team Vault All-American honors for the second consecutive year. Wellick posted six vaults of 9.900 in 14 performances and finished the regular season tied for 12th in the country with an RQS of 9.900. From April 5, 2014 to March 4, 2016, Wellick had 23 consecutive scores of 9.850 or better.
Prior to Arkansas, Snider served as the Head Team Coach at Aerial Athletics in San Antonio, Texas. While at Aerial Athletics, he coached over 30 state, regional and national champions. In his 10-plus years of coaching at Aerial Athletics, he guided more than 15 athletes in receiving full-ride athletic scholarships.
In addition to his tenure at Aerial Athletics, Snider also served as a clinician for Region 3 Gymnastics and the state of Texas at various high performance camps and educational seminars.
Ryan is married to Samantha Snider, associate head coach of the Razorbacks.
