Elswick Named to SEC Gymnastics Community Service Team

Senior Amanda Elswick has been named Arkansas’ representative on the 2022 SEC Gymnastics Community Service Team, the conference announced Friday.

Amanda has been heavily involved in community service and student-athlete development ever since she set foot on the Arkansas campus in 2018. She has been a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee all four years at Arkansas and has been on the executive committee for the last two. As treasurer and secretary, she helps in facilitating community service activities not only for the gymnastics team, but for the entire student-athlete body at Arkansas as well.

This academic year, she has personally logged over 70 hours and averages nearly 12 hours and four events per month. In her work with SAAC, she helped coordinate several successful community events in the fall like Healthy Hogs and Trunk or Treat, and helped assemble first responder goodie bags, Thanksgiving baskets for a local homeless shelter and wrote and collected letters from fellow student-athletes for SAAC’s Gratitude Week.

Also an FCA member, Amanda frequently volunteers at Cross Church in Fayetteville with the children’s ministries, combining her faith and service.

Amanda has also excelled in the classroom during her time at Arkansas. She is a three-time SEC Honor Roll Recipient and is majoring in exercise science en route to physician assistant school. She is rising to new heights gymnastics-wise in her senior season as well and has posted top three finishes in her two events 11 of 19 times this season, which includes two vault titles, two beam title and new career highs on both (9.950 on beam, 9.925 on vault).
