Green Honored as Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Arkansas redshirt junior quarterback Taylen Green has been named the Offensive Player of the Week for games ending Oct. 26 by the Walter Camp Football Foundation following his standout performance during the Razorbacks’ 58-25 win at Mississippi State.

It is the sixth time overall an Arkansas player has earned Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors, and the Razorbacks’ first offensive honoree since quarterback Ryan Mallett (Sept. 19, 2010).

Green was phenomenal in the Razorbacks’ second SEC road win of the season, completing 23-of-30 passing attempts for 314 yards and a career-high five touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. He was the first Arkansas quarterback to throw for five touchdowns and rush for a touchdown in a single game since Mallett accomplished the feat against UTEP in 2010. Green’s five touchdown passes are tied for second-most nationally in a single game this season, and he is one of two Power 4 quarterbacks to throw for five touchdowns and rush for a touchdown in a single game this season, joining Cade Klubnik of Clemson. It also marked the 13th time in Green’s collegiate career that he had thrown for at least one touchdown and rushed for at least one touchdown in the same game.

Through the air, Green became the first Arkansas quarterback to throw 5+ touchdown passes against an SEC opponent since Brandon Allen threw six in a win over Ole Miss in 2015 and just the fifth quarterback in Arkansas history to throw for five or more touchdowns in a single game. Under Green’s guidance, the Hogs posted 673 yards of total offense during the win, eclipsing the 600-yard mark for the third time this season after doing it just four times total from 2018-2023.

The honor was Green’s fifth this week. He was previously named SEC Offensive Player of the Week and Manning Award Star of the Week on Monday in addition to being named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 List and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award honorable mention list.

The Razorbacks return to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium this weekend for an 11 a.m. showdown with No. 19 Ole Miss on ESPN. Arkansas has won five straight over Ole Miss at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, with the last loss coming in 2008.
