Gregg Advances at U.S. Amateur

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Julia Gregg of the Arkansas women’s golf team has advanced to the Round of 64 at the 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington. Gregg shot a 74-75=149 in stroke play to finish in a tie for 53rd. Incoming freshman Reagan Zibilski missed the cut.

Rising senior Gregg was consistent across both rounds of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday. After the first round, Gregg stood in 41st place after shooting a 1-over 74, which was highlighted by two birdies. In the second round, Gregg shot a 2-over 75. She ended with just five bogeys across 36 holes.

Zibilski shot a 79-74=153 in stroke play. The Springfield, Missouri native tallied three birdies on day one and three in day two. Her 1-over 74 was tied for 42nd in round two.

The round of 64 begins at 11 a.m. CT on Wednesday and will be broadcast on the Golf Channel from 5-8 p.m. Gregg is one of 64 in the field of 156 of the world’s best female amateurs to advance to match play. The Farmer’s Branch, Texas native is set to face Megha Ganne of Holmdel, New Jersey at 1 p.m. CT.

The top 32 will advance to Thursday with the championship match taking place on Sunday, Aug. 14.
