Gymbacks Fall to Florida on Friday
The No. 6 Gymbacks had their first SEC road test on Friday and came up short to the No. 3 Florida Gators, 198.050-195.975.
While Arkansas struggled throughout the night, the Gymbacks continued to show up on vault, where they scored a 49.350. Arkansas hasn’t scored lower than 49.250 so far this season on vault and didn’t count a score lower than 9.825 on the event on Friday.
Senior Morgan Price did take the vault crown in the meet, with a season high 9.925. She also scored 9.900 on bars, Arkansas’ highest score on the event and tied for fourth overall.
Bars
Following an opening 9.775 from Joscelyn Roberson, Hailey Klein and Leah Smith both scored 9.825 on bars in the second and third spots to take the Gymbacks halfway through the lineup. Cally Swaney and Allison Cucci went next and both got matching 9.775s, which brought up Morgan Price to anchor. She delivered a very solid routine complete with stuck double layout dismount that went 9.900. Arkansas concluded bars with a 49.100.
Vault
Cami Weaver opened vault with a nice Yurchenko full that had only a small hop on the landing that scored 9.850. After a 9.750 from Smith up second, Cucci started the first of Arkansas’ Yurchenko 1.5s and scored 9.825. Klein got a 9.875 next, and Williams got the same score in the fifth position. Morgan Price closed the rotation with a strong vault that went 9.900, which brought the team’s event score to 49.350.
Floor
Arkansas had an uncharacteristic floor rotation that saw two falls from both Morgan and Frankie Price. Cucci and Smith posted 9.825 marks in the first and third spots, and Williams also delivered the same score up fourth. Roberson anchored and got what would be the Gymbacks’ highest floor tally of the evening, a 9.850, and Arkansas finished floor with a 48.400.
Beam
Needing a bounce back, Madison Gustitus got the beam team off on the right track with a 9.850. Klein went next for a 9.825, and Cucci matched her career high of 9.850 in the third spot. After a fall from Weaver, Morgan Price got a 9.725. Roberson came up to close the rotation and delivered her standard poise. She had just small movement on her landing and earned a 9.825, which took the beam total to 49.075.

Arkansas returns home for an SEC match-up against No. 8 Georgia on Friday, Feb. 6 at 5:45 p.m. It will be Legends and Legacy Night at Bud Walton Arena, honoring Gymbacks past that have made the program what it is today.
