Gymbacks Fall to Tigers in Regular Season Finale

Despite bouncing back well after a shaky first rotation, the No. 8 Gymbacks ultimately couldn’t overcome a strong Senior Night performance by the No. 2 LSU Tigers and fell 198.075-197.100.

The meet wrapped up the regular season for Arkansas, and the Gymbacks finish with a 5-7-1 record, 2-5-1 in the SEC.

The Gymbacks did see four top three finishes on the night. Morgan Price tied for second on vault with a mark of 9.950, Hailey Klein and Allison Cucci tied for third on bars with matching 9.850s, and Joscelyn Roberson came in second on beam with a 9.975.

Roberson’s score was good to match the program individual beam record and is a new career high for her. She is the first Gymback since 2024 to score a 9.975 on beam, when Priscilla Park also did so at LSU.

Bars

Joscelyn Roberson led off the Arkansas bars lineup with a 9.800 and Hailey Klein followed with a 9.850 for the Gymbacks to keep the scores building. Leah Smith then earned a 9.825 midway through the rotation. Freshman Allison Cucci delivered the first stick of the lineup with a 9.850 next. Avery King went 9.475 in the fifth position and Morgan Price scored 9.175 in the anchor spot for a 48.800 total on the event.

Vault

Cami Weaver and Smith were in the first two spots of the vault lineup and scored 9.850 and 9.825, respectively, for their Yurchenko fulls. Cucci was up next and delivered another big score for the Gymbacks with a stuck Yurchenko 1.5 that went 9.925. Lauren Williams and Klein scored 9.825 and 9.775 in the fourth and fifth positions for the Gymbacks. Recovering big from her first rotation, Morgan Price stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 in the anchor spot and scored a big 9.950, which brought Arkansas’ vault total to 49.375.

Floor

Hailey Klein started the floor rotation with a 9.825 and Weaver followed with a 9.775. Needing a boost, Cucci delivered and scored a big 9.900 for a routine full of flash and skill. Smith kept up the momentum with a 9.900 of her own, and Williams earned a third in the fifth spot for the Gymbacks. Roberson came up to close it out and even in the midst of a roaring crowd coming off an LSU perfect 10, she only kept the party going with another 9.900 for Arkansas, which pushed the team’s floor total to 49.425.

Beam

Arkansas’ final rotation began with a solid beam routine from Priscilla Park that went 9.875. Madison Gustitus followed with a 9.850, and Klein dialed up a 9.900 midway through the lineup to keep pace. Weaver matched the score up fourth. Cucci followed with a 9.850 in the fifth spot. Yet again battling the noise of a perfect LSU score, Roberson was not at all rattled and delivered her best beam score yet that saw perfection from one judge, a 9.975. The Gymbacks concluded their floor rotation with a 49.500 event score.
