Gymbacks Host Bulldogs in Top 10 Matchup
The No. 10 Gymbacks return to Bud Walton Arena on Friday and host the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs for a big SEC showdown.
Both teams are currently 1-1 in the SEC and looking to get ahead in the standings. While Arkansas’ overall series with Georgia is a bit lopsided – the Bulldogs holding a 38-12-1 advantage – the matchups have been more even in recent years. In Jordyn Wieber’s tenure, Arkansas is 8-2 against Georgia, its last win coming in 2024. Historically, the Gymbacks tend to fare better against the Dawgs at home, with four total wins in Fayetteville.
Georgia is ranked in the top 10 on three of four events and is currently the top floor team in the country with a team average event score of 49.530. Arkansas has the advantage on vault (49.331) and beam (49.263), where the Gymbacks rank No. 2 and No. 8, respectively.
The Gymbacks are coming off their first conference loss of the season last week at No. 3 Florida (198.050-195.975), while the Bulldogs went a combined 4-0 with both a quad meet and Sunday contest with No. 11 Auburn (197.550-196.050).
Friday’s meet is Legends and Legacy Night, at which Gymback alumni will be recognized for their efforts in growing the program into what it is today. Doors open at 4:45 p.m., team intros will take place at 5:45 and first vault is set for 6:00. Tickets are available online and in-person via Razorback Ticket Center.
