Gymbacks Pick Up Transfer Madison Gustitus
The Arkansas gymnastics program has made its first offseason transfer portal move as the team received a commitment from Madison Gustitus of San Jose State.
Gustitus spent her freshman season with the Spartans and quickly emerged as the team’s top beam worker. She appeared in every lineup on the event for San Jose State throughout the 2025 season and scored 9.850+ six times, meeting her career high of 9.875 in three of those outings.
Heading into the Spartans’ postseason, Gustitus was named Second Team All-Mountain West and finished tied second in the conference with a 9.860 NQS on beam. At the Mountain West Championships, she tied for the beam title with a 9.875 en route to SJSU’s third place team finish.
Gustitus qualified as an individual competitor on beam to the Salt Lake Regional on April 3, where she scored a 9.800 for a top 20 finish.
Madison made six appearances in the SJSU floor lineup with a career high of 9.800 on Jan. 12, which was also good for the event title. In total, Gustitus tallied five event titles and four Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors on the season.
Prior to collegiate gymnastics, Gustitus was a four-time Level 10 Nationals qualifier out of Legacy Elite Gymnastics in Illinois. She was the 2024 national beam champion and notched a pair on third place finishes on floor and all-around. She also took the Region 5 titles on floor and beam in 2024 and qualified to the prestigious Nastia Liukin Cup.
