Gymbacks Set New SEC Championships Team, Bars, and Beam Scores, Place Sixth
Arkansas had another historic outing on Saturday as the Hogs posted a score of 197.050 at SEC Championships, good for sixth place.
It’s the first time that the Gymbacks have ever scored 197+ in an SEC Championships, a new program record. The team also set new SECs highs on bars (49.250) and beam (49.450), and their beam score was a best by over two-tenths.
Arkansas had three top 10 finishes on the day, with Cami Weaver and Hailey Klein tying for eighth on beam with a score of 9.925, which also ties the individual program record on the event at SEC Championships. Maddie Jones posted a 9.900 on floor, which landed her in a 10-way tie for seventh.
LSU claimed the crown for the night with a score of 198.075, Alabama was second (197.750), Kentucky in third (197.600), Florida in fourth (197.300), Mizzou in fifth (197.275), Auburn in seventh (196.775) and Georgia in eighth (196.075).
Vault
Arkansas trio of Yurchenko fulls from Cami Weaver, Leah Smith and Frankie Price went 9.800. 9.775 and 9.800, respectively, to get the Hogs started off strong. Looking to drop a 9.525 score in the fourth spot, Hailey Klein came in clutch and scored a 9.825 for her Yurchenko 1.5 up fifth. Lauren Williams closed the rotation with a 9.850, which solidified the 49.050 event score.
Bars
The first three bars routines for Arkansas got better as they went on, and Reese Drotar had a solid set with a stuck double layout dismount up third for a 9.875. Jensen Scalzo and Priscilla Park kept the momentum going with marks of 9.800 and 9.850, which brought up Maddie Jones to anchor. She put down Arkansas’ second 9.875 of the rotation, complete with stuck dismount, and sealed the new SEC Championships record of 49.250 on the event.
Beam
Kalyxta Gamiao was steady as always in the lead-off spot and delivered a 9.875 on beam to set the tone. Jones followed with another great routine, her second stick on the night, and went 9.900. Cally Swaney earned a 9.825 midway through the lineup to keep the pace up for the Hogs. Weaver and Klein then got matching 9.925s in the fourth and fifth spots, which match the program record for the individual high score on beam at SECs, a mark that had not been achieved since 2018. The Hogs finished beam with a 49.450 for the new record.
Floor
Arkansas kept getting stronger and stronger on floor, as the first four scores built off one another: Gamiao with a 9.800, Klein with a 9.850 and Jones with a 9.900, her second 9.900 mark of the night. Smith followed with a solid routine that went 9.875, and Williams got a 9.800 in the fifth spot. Price anchored strong as always and delivered a 9.875 that sealed the rotation with a 49.300 score.

Arkansas will have home gym advantage as the postseason continues on, with the Gymbacks set to host the NCAA Fayetteville Regional April 3-6 at Bud Walton Arena.
