Hogs at No. 4 in NCBWA Preseason Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Hogs are ranked No. 4 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s preseason poll.

It is Arkansas’ highest ranking in the publication’s preseason top 30 since 2022, when the Razorbacks also began the campaign at No. 4 in the country.

The Hogs are ranked behind only No. 1 Wake Forest, reigning national champion No. 2 LSU and last year’s national runner-up No. 3 Florida by the NCBWA. No. 5 Tennessee, No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Vanderbilt, No. 8 Oregon State, No. 9 Texas and No. 10 Texas A&M round out the top 10, with the SEC boasting a nation-leading nine programs in the preseason top 30.

The NCBWA is the fourth of college baseball’s five major national polls, including Baseball America, D1Baseball, Perfect Game and USA Today Coaches, to release rankings ahead of the 2024 season. The Hogs are a consensus top-five team entering the campaign, checking in at No. 2 by Perfect Game and No. 3 by both Baseball America and D1Baseball.

Arkansas, led by head coach Dave Van Horn, begins its 2024 campaign with a four-game series against James Madison at Baum-Walker Stadium. First pitch between the Razorbacks and Dukes on Opening Day is set for 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, on SEC Network+.
