Hogs Surge Past UT-Arlington with Strong Second Quarter

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s basketball improved to 3-1 on the season after a 93-65 win over UT-Arlington (1-3) on Thursday night in Bud Walton Arena.

The Hogs entered the second quarter down three points but outscored the Mavericks 36-9 and grabbed an insurmountable lead. It was the first time since 2020 that Arkansas scored more than 35 points in a quarter and only the second time in program history.

The Razorbacks shot lights out in the quarter, going 7-8 from three and 8-12 from the field. Jenna Lawrence was a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc in that 10-minute period.

Senior guard Izzy Higginbottom led all scorers with a season-high 29 points and has been the squad’s leading scorer for three out of the first four games of the 2024-25 season.

  • Jenna Lawrence recorded her third double-double in four games and set career highs in points (14), rebounds (12) and three-pointers (4).
  • Mike Neighbors picked up his 140th win at Arkansas, inching closer to 150.
  • Arkansas outrebounded the Mavericks by a margin of 17, the third-largest margin since 2017.

  • Arkansas went 13-25 (52%) from beyond the arc. The Hogs made 13 threes in two games last season.
