Jones Caps Razorback Career, Roberson Earns Beam All-American Honors at Nationals

While one young Gymback career continued to build and flourish, another came to an end on Thursday night as Maddie Jones and Joscelyn Roberson competed at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth.

Roberson has been nothing short of stellar in her rookie campaign and did not disappoint in her first-ever nationals. She posted a score of 39.425, which came in at 10th of the evening session and 13th overall. The mark was also the highest-ever freshman all-around score at NCAAs in program history.

Roberson earned matching 9.900s on her first two events of the night, beam and floor. With an eighth place finish in the session, she garnered Second Team All-America honors on beam, making her a WCGA and NCAA All-American on the event. Her 9.900 on floor was good for 11th in the evening session and top 15 overall.

Joscelyn is Arkansas’ first freshman NCAA All-American since 2012, and the first-ever freshman NCAA All-American on beam.

In rotations three and four she added a 9.825 on vault and 9.800 on bars, respectively.

Senior Maddie Jones had a successful career finale on the uneven bars. She floated through her routine and after nearly making a big error on one of her release moves, covered it up flawlessly. She finished with a 9.775 on the event.
