Jones Named To 2026 SEC Football Legends Class

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Razorback running back Felix Jones has been named to the 2026 SEC Football Legends class presented by T-Mobile, an assemblage of former football standouts who will be honored at events surrounding the SEC Football Championship Game in Atlanta in December, the Southeastern Conference announced on Thursday.

The 2026 Football Legends class includes 16 former stars who excelled on the gridiron and helped write the rich history of the sport at their respective institutions.  This year’s class includes Heisman Trophy winners, national champions, All-Americans, All-SEC selections and NFL standouts.  The group represents teams that won SEC Championships, claimed Super Bowl titles and are represented in state, school and college football halls of fame.

Jones was one of the most explosive playmakers in Arkansas football history. A consensus All-American kick returner in 2007 and two-time All-SEC selection, he was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year that same season. In three years as a Razorback, he rushed for 2,956 yards, the sixth-most in school history, and scored 20 rushing touchdowns. He ranks second at Arkansas with more than 1,700 kick-return yards and still holds the school record in kickoff-return average. Jones shared the backfield with two-time Doak Walker Award winner Darren McFadden and Peyton Hillis; all three later enjoyed lengthy NFL careers.

Following his time on The Hill, the Dallas Cowboys selected Jones 22nd overall in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft and he went on to play six seasons in the league. During his NFL career, Jones rushed for 2,912 yards while totaling 1,129 receiving yards and 2,044 return yards in addition to scoring 15 career touchdowns. Combined, his college production and professional longevity cemented him as a cornerstone of one of Arkansas’s most talented running-back groups.

The class will be honored at the 2026 SEC Football “Weekend of Champions” December 4-5 in Atlanta, Ga, highlighted by the annual SEC Legends Celebration presented by T-Mobile on Friday, December 4 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.  The group will also be recognized prior to the SEC Football Championship Game, which will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, December 5.

Following last weekend’s SEC road opener at Texas A&M, the Hogs return inside the friendly confines of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium to host 15th-ranked Tennessee. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, on SEC Network.
