José Marin Finishes Final Round of ANWA

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Maria José Marin of the Arkansas women’s golf team finished with a 225 (69-78-78) to tie for 30th at the August National Women’s Amateur. For the second consecutive year, José Marin participated in the final round at the ANWA.

“I would say I was kind of impressed with the chips that I made. I made really tough ones,” said José Marin. “If I did not make those putts in one, I made the putts in two.”

In the first and second rounds, José Marin was able to achieve six birdies, including a miraculous putt from 87-feet from off the green. After facing a difficult front nine on Saturday, José Marin was able to bounce back on the back nine.

On a beautiful day in Augusta, scores were high. José Marin ended the round with six bogeys, while accumulating 12 pars to end her round at 6-over 78.

José Marin officially ended the fifth edition of the ANWA at 9 over par.

“It’s a big week for the university and for every university. Obviously, I’m going to try and play my best golf and help the Razorbacks get to finals,” added José Marin.
