Maria Jose Sanchez Breaks Platform Record as Hogs Have Solid Swims

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Six Razorbacks punched their tickets into the A-Finals tonight in day three of Iowa Invite action. Maria Jose Sanchez destroyed her previous record on platform of 315.75, posting a 347.30 in this morning’s A-Final.

Becca Simpson kicked off the morning in 200 back, finishing 7th and posting a time of 1:59.49. Ashley Morton finished 13th and will swim in the B-Final tonight. The Razorbacks put together some really solid swims in the 100 Freestyle. Delaney Harrison finished 3rd with a time of 49.40 followed immediately by Bella Cothern who posted a 49.52 finish for 4th place. Bara Matoskova finished 14th and will swim in tonight’s B-Final.

Bradi Jones will compete in the 200 Breatstroke A-Final, coming off a 2:15.33 swim, finishing 7th. Holly Robinson finished 12th and will swim in the B-Final. Lindy Hunter will compete in the B-Final, too, following a 15th-place finish in the prelim. Sydney Craft and Eleonora Camisa swam their way into the 200 Butterfly A-Final. Craft swam a 1:59.84 in the prelim, finishing 2nd. Camisa finished 3rd in 2:01.06. Sydney Craft posted a 16:39.63 finish in the 1650 freestyle, an NCAA B-cut time.

Maria Jose Sanchez dove her way to the A-Final on platform, posting a 347.30 score, shattering her previous platform record of 315.75. Sanchez now holds 2 of the top 5 scores on platform in the program record book. Isa Perreira will also feature in the A-Final, following a solid 243.20 performance.
