McEntire Lands on SEC Community Service Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas pitcher Will McEntire has been named to the SEC Community Service Team.

The conference names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, highlighting an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.

This season, McEntire has donated $5 for every strikeout he has recorded to the CARTI Cancer Center in Arkansas. McEntire’s father, now in remission, was diagnosed with cancer when Will was a senior in high school.

Off the field, the Bryant, Ark., native, has also worked with numerous non-profit organizations and community centers in Northwest Arkansas, including Squire Jehegan Outreach Center.

McEntire boasts a perfect 5-0 record with a 3.67 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 49.0 innings of work over 25 appearances this season. The veteran right-hander was named to the midseason watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award.
