No. 3 Women’s Golf Set for Moon Golf Invitational, Starting Day Earlier
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 3 Arkansas women’s golf team is coming off its second team win of the season, first of the spring, and will look to carry that momentum into the Moon Golf Invitational. Hosted by Louisville, the Hogs will start play tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 17, and go through Tuesday, Feb 20 at Suntree Country Club Classic Course in Melbourne, Florida. The tournament’s start was moved up a day due to impending weather in the area.
The tournament will be a three-round, 54-hole format across the four days, starting with nine holes on Saturday following the Hogs’ practice round with a 12:15 p.m. CT shotgun start. On Sunday, the first round will resume if weather allows. The second round is set to begin on Monday at 7 a.m. CT followed by Tuesday at 8 a.m. CT for the final round. This schedule may be modified due to weather.
This marks Arkansas’ fourth consecutive year playing at the Moon Golf Invitational. The tournament has a stacked lineup of teams, including four in the top 10 (counting Arkansas), 11 in the top 17 and 16 in the top 50 in the Spikemark team rankings.
Arkansas started the spring season in exciting fashion after coming back to win the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic. She tied for 11th in the field, which marked a season’s best, as well as career best at Arkansas. Todd has a 72.09 scoring average in 11 rounds played with seven rounds at par or under. She is also leading the team with 128 pars.
Reagan Zibilsk, No. 101 in the Spikemark rankings, is in the third spot, having played in all four tournaments. She is coming off a career-low 2-under 214 (72-72-70) to tie for 11th, which was also a career best. Among counting scores toward the team, her score was tied for the best for Arkansas. She is sporting a 72.18 scoring average with eight rounds at par or under.
Maria José Marin will be in the fourth spot. José Marin is No. 1 in the NCAA individual rankings and No. 14 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
