No. 4 Women's Golf Opens Spring at Purdue Puerto Rico Classic
RIO GRANDE, P.R. – No. 4 Arkansas women’s golf will open the spring portion of the 2025-26 schedule at this week’s Purdue Puerto Rico Classic at the Grand Reserve Golf Club (Par 72) in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The tournament was scheduled to be played with 18 holes each day from Feb. 1-3, but forecasted rain has forced an adjustment to 36 holes on Sunday and a potential for 18 more on Monday or Tuesday.
Arkansas will tee off on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. alongside Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Purdue.
The field includes five teams ranked in the top 25: #4 Arkansas, #10 Vanderbilt, #14 North Carolina, #15 Ole Miss and #20 Northwestern, the reigning national champions.
The Hogs’ lineup will consist of reigning individual NCAA champion Maria José Marin, senior Reagan Zibilski, junior Abbey Schutte and freshmen Sara Brentcheneff and Swetha Sathish. Sophomore Natalie Blonien will compete as an individual.
Brentcheneff, a native of Lyon, France, is making her collegiate golf debut after joining the program in January.
Arkansas had a pair of wins in the fall at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational and the Dale McNamara Invitational and finished runner-up at The Ally.
The Razorbacks won the 2025 Puerto Rico Classic team title at 15-under and José Marin claimed the individual title with a 9-under 207.
