No. 6 Women’s Golf Ready for Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 6 Arkansas women’s golf team is back in action this week, as the Hogs are set to play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate from Monday, March 4 to Wednesday, March 6. The tournament, which will be broadcast on Peacock all three days, will be played at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and hosted by the Gamecocks.

This tournament is a three-round, 54-hole format across Monday through Wednesday. Each round will tee off starting at 8:20 a.m. CT with the tournament broadcast on Peacock from 12:30-4:30 p.m. CT each day. The Hogs will tee off hole 10.

Arkansas is one of 18 teams in the field, as well as one of 10 schools in the SEC in the field. The No. 6 Razorbacks are one of 11 in the top 25 and one of five inside the top 10 in the Spikemark rankings in the field.

The Hogs have played in two tournaments this spring, which included winning the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic (-10, 854) for the team’s second victory of the year fand finishing 11th at the Moon Golf Invitational (+17, 881).

Maria José Marin will play in the No. 1 spot and make her sixth tournament appearance of the season. The freshman is No. 2 in NCAA Spikemark individual rankings and No. 14 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She paced the Hogs at the Moon Golf Invitational with a 1-over 217 (70-76-71) to finish in a tie for 17th. José Marin leads the Hogs in scoring average (70.43), rounds at par/better (11) and rounds in the 60s (5). She is a three-time SEC Freshman of the Week recipient and won the Blessings Collegiate Invitational with 16 birdies in 36 holes and a 10-under 134 (67-67) back in October.

Miriam Ayora, who is No. 51 in the NCAA Spikemark individual rankings, has enjoyed a solid senior season and will highlight the No. 2 spot in the lineup in her sixth tournament. She is coming off a 3-over 219 (72-75-72) at the Moon Golf Invitational to tie for 26th. Ayora is second on the team in scoring average (72.14) and rounds at par or better (10). She logged a career-best third place showing at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational behind a 4-under 140 (70-70)

Reagan Zibilski will play at the No. 3 spot in the lineup. She has played in all five tournaments leading up to Monday, logging a 72.64 scoring average and eight rounds at par/under. Zibilski finished in a tie for 44th at the Moon Golf Invitational with a 7-over 223 (74-73-76). Her best showing this season came at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, in which she tied for a team’s best score at 2-under 214 (72-72-70) for a tie for 11th.

Ela Anacona is No. 62 in the NCAA Spikemark individual rankings, making her second straight lineup. Anacona has a 72.64 scoring average with six rounds at par or better in 11 rounds played. She is coming off a 9-over 224 (75-74-75) at the Moon Golf Invitational. Her best showing this season was at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, in which she finished with a career-best fourth place finish at 3-under 141 (68-73).

Kendall Todd will wrap up the lineup for the Hogs in Hilton Head. She has played in five tournaments leading up to Monday, registering a 72.79 scoring average with seven rounds at par or better. She is coming off a 10-over 226 (73-77-76) to finish in a tie for 62nd at the Moon Golf Invitational. Todd tied for a lineup’s best score at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, logging a 2-under 214 (71-70-73) to claim a tie for 11th.
