No. 8 Women’s Golf Finish SEC Stroke Play Sixth, Advance to Match Play

BELLEAIR, Fla. – The No. 8 Arkansas women’s golf team finished strong on the back nine in the third round at the SEC Championship, logging a 3-over 283 on Sunday. The Hogs were sitting in 10th place at the turn, three shots behind the cut, but finished -3 in the back to elevate back into a position to make the cut. Arkansas finished stroke play with a 17-over 857 (282-292-283) to log sixth and make the eight-team cut for match play. This marks the first time since 2021 the Hogs have advanced to match play and Arkansas’ highest finish in stroke play at an SEC Championship since 2019.

Kajal Mistry delivered when the Hogs needed her the most, finishing Sunday with a 1-under 69. Mistry logged three birdies, 13 pars and just two bogeys to jump 10 spots up on the leaderboard to finish stroke play in a tie for 11th with a 2-over 212 (71-72-69). Her 69 ties a season-low round and marks her fourth round in the 60s this season. Misty tied for the fifth best par 4s average in the field with 4.00.

Maria José Marin had her best round of the weekend with an even-par 70, highlighted by a great putt for birdie on the 18th hole. She finished the day with three birdies, 12 pars and three bogeys. José Marin jumped eight spots to finish stroke play in a tie for 30th with a 7-over 217 (74-73-70). The freshman logged the fourth best par 3s average (2.83) in the field.

Miriam Ayora was a big contributor to Arkansas turning things around in the back nine with one birdie and eight pars in the back, finishing the day with a 1-over 71. She finished the day with two birdies, 13 pars and three bogeys. Ayora tied for 47th in stroke play with an 11-over 221 (75-75-71).

Kendall Todd recovered from a tough start, finishing the day with a 3-over 73. She had four of her five bogeys within the first six holes but settled in with two birdies and nine pars before just missing her putt to bogey the 18th hole. Todd logged a tie for 11th in the tournament with a 2-over 212 (67-72-73). Todd tied for the second most pars (39) in the tournament.

Reagan Zibilski finished the third round with an 8-over 78 and wrapped up the tournament with a 14-over 224 (70-76-78). She tied for 57th in stroke play. Arkansas finished stroke play with a tie for the third most pars with 174.
