Platt Named to Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas senior tight end Jaden Platt was named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, the Wuerffel Foundation announced Tuesday morning.
Platt was one of 113 student-athletes nominated for the watch list. As college football’s premier award for community service, the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recognizes student-athletes who use their platforms to serve others and make a positive impact in their communities. Named after Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and former University of Florida quarterback, the award reflects his lifelong commitment to leadership, service and unity.
Platt has made a tremendous impact in the Fayetteville community and Northwest Arkansas since his arrival in the spring of 2025. He spearheaded a winter coat drive in December of 2025 that collected over 100 winter coats for youth at the Yolanda Richardson community center, in addition to speaking with kids at local elementary schools and visiting veterans at the local VA Hospital. He has also been an integral part of local back-to-school drives and Arkansas Athletics community service events during his time on The Hill.
The Haslet, Texas native returns after starting 11 games and appearing in all 12 games in 2025. Platt recorded 21 receptions for a total of 296 yards and two touchdowns a year ago. Platt had a career-high 66-yard receiving performance on four receptions, highlighted by an eight-yard touchdown pass from KJ Jackson in the fourth quarter of the Hogs’ final road game of the 2025 season at Texas on Nov. 22. He also had three catches for 53 yards in a loss at Ole Miss on Sept. 13.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy finalists will be selected by the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy National Selection Committee, with input from a fan vote. The 2026 recipient will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 11 and also serve as captain of the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
The 2026 recipient and finalists will be invited to join Wuerffel in New York City for Heisman Trophy events, including the Wuerffel Foundation’s Picklebowl: Heisman Edition. The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Presentation Gala will follow in February 2027 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
