Preview – Arkansas Hosts Missouri for Pink Out Game

FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas women’s basketball team (18-8, 5-6 SEC) will look to get back on the right foot, as the team hosts Missouri (15-9, 4-7 SEC) on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena, with the contest serving as the Pink Out game. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

STORYLINES

  • Arkansas is coming off a disappointing 78-70 loss at Vanderbilt, marking the team’s fifth loss in the last six games. The Razorbacks are looking to turn things around in the final five games of SEC play
  • The Razorbacks will face Missouri for the second time this season, a team Arkansas beat by 22, 77-55, in early January and have eight straight wins against
  • Arkansas is 18-7 overall, with its win total matching last season’s amount. A win would give the Razorbacks an opportunity to get back to .500 in SEC play

She is also No. 6 in career starts (111), No. 9 in career 3-pointers (156) and No. 15 in career assists (279)
  • Saylor Poffenbarger leads the team with 29 blocks and averages 9.0 points and 6.8 boards per game
  • Poffenbarger is No. 2 in school history in individual season defensive rebounds with 154. She needs 190 to tie the record set by Lauren Ervin
  • Chrissy Carr logs 10.8 points per game and leads the squad with 56 3-pointers
  • The team is second in least turnovers committed per game in the SEC with 14.0 per game
  • Arkansas gets to the line 24.4 times per game, which is second in the conference and third in the country. The Razorbacks’ 16.1 makes from the free throw line per game is second in the SEC and ninth in the NCAA

HISTORY AGAINST THE TIGERS

  • Arkansas holds the 19-12 advantage over Missouri in the all-time series
  • The Razorbacks are on an eight-game winning streak over the Tigers
  • The first game of the series was in 1986 in Arkansas’ first NCAA Tournament appearance, resulting in a 66-65 loss for the Razorbacks in Columbia
  • Arkansas is 9-4 in Fayetteville and 13-8 as SEC opponents against Missouri
  • In last month’s meeting, Arkansas defeated Missouri, 77-55. Poffenbarger logged a career-high 24 points, while holding the Tigers’ leading scorer Frank to just five points. Barnum followed with a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Carr added 16 points
