Ragnow Named to SEC All-Freshman Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas freshman center Frank Ragnow was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team, as announced by the league Thursday.

A native of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Ragnow moved to center to begin his freshman campaign after never playing the position before. The freshman has graded out at 70 percent and played more than 200 snaps this season.

Ragnow has played an integral part of the Arkansas’ proficient offensive line that has paved the way for two 1,000 yard rushers in running backs sophomore Alex Collins and junior Jonathan Williams, the only pair of teammates to rush for 1,000 yards each this season. Arkansas’ ground game ranks fourth in the SEC and 26th in the country at 220.2 rushing yards per game.

Ragnow is the first Arkansas center to be voted on the  SEC All-Freshman team since Travis Swanson was honored in 2010.

The Razorbacks had three student-athletes named to the SEC All-Freshman team last year, as Collins, tight end Hunter Henry and defensive tackle Darius Philon were all recognized.

Arkansas will travel to Houston to take on the Texas Longhorns in the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl. The SEC/BIG12 matchup will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston on Monday, Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
