Player of the Week
INF Peyton Stovall

Infielder Peyton Stovall powered the Razorback offense to a 4-0 record on the week, including a series sweep against Wright State. Stovall led the Hogs in nearly every major offensive category, slashing a team-leading .526/.550/1.105 (10-for-19) with five extra-base hits, including two doubles and three home runs, as well as seven RBI and eight runs scored. The Haughton, La., native had multiple hits in all four games and recorded at least one RBI in three of the four games. Stovall swatted a home run in three consecutive games, clubbing solo shots against Illinois State (March 1) before doing so in back-to-back games against Wright State (March 3-4).

Pitcher of the Week
LHP Hunter Hollan

Stats (1 APP/1 GS): 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO

Pitcher Hunter Hollan twirled six innings of one-run ball in the finale against Wright State to win his second game of the season and clinch the Razorbacks’ first weekend series sweep of the year. The left-hander struck out five and allowed just one run, his third start with two or fewer runs allowed. He recorded the first quality start by a Razorback pitcher in Sunday’s win.

Freshman of the Week
INF Jayson Jones

Stats (1 GP/1 GS): .400/.400/1.200 (2-for-5), 1 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI

Infielder Jayson Jones made the most of his first one start during the week, recording a pair of extra-base hits and two RBI in the Hogs’ series-clinching win against Wright State on Saturday. Jones’ second collegiate hit was the same as his first, swatting a two-run home run in the sixth inning before his leadoff double in the eight to help power the Razorbacks to a 12-6 win.

Razorback Notes

  • Arkansas won all three games against Wright State, securing its first weekend series sweep of 2023.
  • The Razorbacks have not lost a home weekend series to a non-conference opponent since 2014.
