Razorback Seniors Have Stellar Showing Against Vanderbilt
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Going into Saturday morning’s Senior Day meet, the Razorbacks were 3-0 in the Arkansas Natatorium this season. The Hogs continued their streak of dominant performances at home, beating the Vanderbilt Commodores by a score of 151-103 marking their fifteenth consecutive victory over SEC opponent Vanderbilt.
The Razorbacks finished first in all fourteen events with four athletes (Betsy Wizard, Adela Vavrinova, Sydney Craft, and Alessia Ferraguti) winning both of their individual events. The Razorbacks often won races by solid margins, and a handful of swimmers posted season best times such as Adela Vavrinova who posted a 56.12 in the 100 backstroke. Coach Neil Harper commented, “it was a great day for our seniors. They collectively looked happy, excited and led the team by their efforts, results, success, and example.” The Razorback seniors had themselves a day, accounting for five individual event wins as well as being part of two winning relays. The team was fast and showed great, “focus and proved they are improving and building confidence,” for their end-of-year goals, said Harper. The Razorbacks are a month away from the SEC Championships and are working diligently to build upon their many successes so far this season.
The Razorbacks will be back in action on January 26 as they take on Kansas at the Robinson Natatorium at 3:00pm.
