Razorbacks Set New Season High, Defeat No. 2 for the Second Time in 2025
The No. 15 Gymbacks hosted the No. 2 team in the country for the second time this season and yet again came away with the victory as they took down Florida 197.175-196.625 on Friday night.
The team score was a new season high and Arkansas also registered new bests on vault (49.300) and bars (49.400) to help push toward the win.
Graduate transfer Mati Waligora had a great night with shares of two event titles on bars (9.950) and floor (9.925). Both scores matched her personal bests and were the highest in her Arkansas career so far.
Freshman Joscelyn Roberson collected the beam title with a 9.900 mark, her second of the season. She has now socred 9.900+ on beam in four of six meets for Arkansas. She also came in second all-around with a total score of 39.450.
Redshirt junior Frankie Price rounded out the titles on the night as she matched Waligora’s 9.925 on floor for her fourth win on the event this season.
A total of 7.341 fans were in attendance Friday, Arkansas’ sixth-highest turnout in program history.
Vault
Redshirt junior Cami Weaver got the meet out to a good start with a stuck Yurchenko full on vault that went 9.850. Freshman Ja’Leigh Lang went next and also stuck her full for a 9.900, a new career high on the event. Fellow rookie Grace Drexler made her collegiate debut in the third spsot and got a 9.875 for her Yurchenko 1.5 to keep the momentum going. Roberson matched her score next. Following a 9.725 from Dakota Essenpries, Hailey Klein delivered a 9.800 for her Yurchenko 1.5 to take Arkansas’ vault total to 49.300 and secure the season high.
Bars
Roberson led off bars with a 9.800, and junior Cally Swaney was up next. She stuck her double layout dismount for a 9.900, which matched her career high. Ewald got a 9.825 in the third spot and Park added a 9.800 up fourth. Senior Maddie Jones stuck her dismount next at No. 5 and earned a 9.925, a new season high. Waligora came up to anchor and put down her best set of the season, complete with a stick, for a 9.950 and cemented Arkansas’ event score of 49.400.
Beam
Kalyxta Gamiao started the beam rotation with a 9.825. Ewald followed in her Arkansas beam debut and got a 9.675. Park delivered a solid routine that went 9.825 midway through the lineup. Following a fall from Waligora, Weaver helped to right the ship and scored 9.800 in the fifth position. Roberson finished out the rotation with Arkansas’ highest score, a 9.900, which pushed the beam score to 49.025.
Floor
The floor scores built as they went with Gamiao, Klein and Jones going 9.825, 9.850 and 9.875, respectively, to pace the event. Waligora then went up and earned a 9.925 in her Gymback floor debut with an exciting choreography and clean tumbling. Roberson got a 9.875 up fifth, which brought Price to anchor. She delivered her usual power and performance and earned a 9.925, making Arkansas’ floor total 49.450.
