Roberson Earns a Spot on 2025 World Championships Team
2023 World Champion and Gymback Joscelyn Roberson will have a chance to bring home some hardware from the international stage as Roberson was selected as a member of the United States’ team for the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships on Wednesday.
Roberson stood out as one of the top four gymnasts after two days of selection camp en route to making the team. Among eight athletes competing, she had top three scores on vault, beam and floor, and finished third all-around on day one.
Roberson will be joined by Dulcy Caylor (World Champions Centre), Skye Blakely (Florida) and Leanne Wong (Florida) at the World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia Oct. 19-25. As a post-Olympic format, there will be no team competition at the event, with all-around and apparatus medals up for grabs.
Joscelyn and Team USA won team gold at the 2023 World Championships in Antwerp. She had also qualified for the vault final but was unable to compete due to injury. In her four elite seasons, Roberson has won seven gold medals and four silver medals at international competitions, along with a spot on Team USA as a traveling replacement athlete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Roberson has been primarily coached by Arkansas assistant Chris Brooks in her return to elite gymnastics. Brooks appeared at three World Championships in his career, where he and Team USA earned three top five finishes, including a bronze medal in 2011. He also finished in sixth place on high bar at the 2010 World Championships in Rotterdam and the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow.
