Schultz Takes 1-Meter Title
ATLANTA- Sophomore Brooke Schultz continued her winning ways at the USA Diving Winter Nationals, taking first-place in the 1-meter Thursday afternoon.
This was Schultz’s second event of the competition, as she earned a first-place finish in the 3-meter synchro with partner Murphy Bromberg Tuesday afternoon.
Schultz finished fourth in the preliminary round, advancing to the finals with a score of 251.25. She overcame a deficit of 7.40 points going into the finals, winning the event with a total score of 532.20. There was a 16.80 difference between Schultz and the second-place finisher.
The Fayetteville, Ark. native will compete in the 3-meter on Friday in the final event of the competition.
