SEC Road Test Up Next for Gymbacks
After two straight at home, the No. 6 Gymbacks hit the road for their first SEC road meet this weekend as they are set to take on the No. 3 Florida Gators in Gainesville.
Last time out in the 2025 season, Arkansas defeated then-No. 2 Florida 197.175-196.625 in Fayetteville, the second time in 2025 that the Gymbacks took down the No. 2 team in the nation. Florida has a 53-4 advantage all-time in the series. Prior to 2025, Arkansas hadn’t beaten Florida since 2011, and the Gymbacks have never won in Gainesville.
The Gators are ranked in the top 10 on all events except for vault and are currently the top team in the country on bars. Arkansas and Florida are closest matched on floor, where Florida is averaging just a half-tenth higher on the season (49.358 to Arkansas’ 49.308).
The Gymbacks are coming off their season high team score last weekend, 197.475, in a win over SEMO. The Gators are 5-0 so far in 2026 and are 4-0 at home. They notched their season high of 197.725 in their season opener on Jan. 9.
Friday’s meet is set for 6:30 p.m. in Gainesville. The meet will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with Samantha Peszek and John Roethlisberger on the call and Taylor Davis sideline reporting. Live scoring will be provided by Virtius.
