Jason Traxson has been the certified athletic trainer for the Arkansas gymnastics team since 2009. His primary responsibility is the day-to-day prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of injuries or illnesses that affect the gymnastics team.
Prior to his medical coverage of the Gymbacks, he worked with the University of Cincinnati primarily responsible for football, while assisting with track and field as well as cheer.
Traxson is also active in the Graduate Athletic Training Education Program where he serves as a preceptor and teaching classes.
A native of Rogers, Arkansas, Traxson received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Arkansas in 2006, followed by his master’s degree in kinesiology and athletic training in 2008 from the University of Arkansas.
Traxson is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and licensed by the Arkansas Board of Athletic Trainers to practice in the field of sports medicine.
