Kayla Skinner joined the Clinical and Sport Psychology team in August 2017 as a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Arkansas. Skinner has been a Razorback since 2010 and received her undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude and master’s in psychology from the University of Arkansas.
Before joining the Clinical and Sport Psychology team, Skinner provided psychological services in a variety of settings. She worked as a behavioral health provider at a Community Clinic, conducted neuropsychological evaluations with a geriatric population as well as Razorback student-athletes through Mercy hospital, and was a co-leader for multiple adult and adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills groups through a private practice in Bentonville. Skinner has provided individual and group psychological services through the Psychological Clinic at the University of Arkansas since 2014 and continues to do so.
Skinner has been published multiple times and continues to conduct research in the realm of emotion and addictive processes.
Skinner has been selected to complete an APA accredited predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at Eastern Virginia Medical School for the 2018-2019 training year. She will continue her training on the Adult Medical Inpatient training line, and after successfully completing this internship will earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology.
