Wallace Lands on ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas’ Cayden Wallace was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings South All-Region Team on Wednesday.

The Razorback third baseman, who earned second-team recognition, is slashing .299/.393/.554 with 15 home runs and a team-leading 57 runs batted in through 62 games this season. Wallace’s 15 homers are tied for the team lead.

A team captain, Wallace also paces the Hogs in runs scored (58), hits (75), doubles (17), total bases (139), steals (12) and slugging percentage (.554) this year. The Greenbrier, Ark., native’s 37 walks rank second on the team.

Wallace was superb in SEC play during the regular season, hitting a team-best .310 with six homers and 24 RBI in 30 league contests. He has elevated his game even more this postseason, earning a spot on the NCAA Stillwater Regional All-Tournament Team after slashing .353/.500/1.059 with a team-high four round-trippers and eight RBI to power Arkansas’ offense in the highest-scoring regional round in NCAA history.

Wallace and the Hogs open play in the College World Series against Stanford on Saturday, June 18. First pitch from Charles Schwab Field Omaha is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN.
