Wildcats Come to Town for Gymnastics Empowerment Night
The No. 7 Gymbacks are back at home this weekend as they host the No. 24 Kentucky Wildcats Friday for an SEC matchup on Empowerment Night.
Arkansas fell to the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide last weekend 197.950-196.900 and are looking to bounce back in SEC competition at home. Kentucky had a slower start to the season but is gradually working back, posting its two high scores of the season in the last two meets.
The Wildcats are one of just two SEC opponents that Arkansas has the all-time series advantage over at 28-19, and the highest winning percentage among conference foes at .596. The Gymbacks have not lost to the Wildcats in Fayetteville since 2022 and are 8-3 overall at home against the Wildcats.
Kentucky has started to find its footing through six meets, and while the Gymbacks are ranked higher on every event, the two teams are separated by less than two-tenths in NQS on vault and floor.
The meet will be the team’s Empowerment Night, celebrating women’s empowerment and observing Black History Month.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with team intros at 7:15 and first vault at 7:30 at Bud Walton Arena. Tickets are available online or in person via Razorback Ticket Center.
The competition will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with live scoring provided via Virtius.
