Williams nominated for Broyles Award

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams has been nominated for the Broyles Award, named for legendary Arkansas coach Frank Broyles and annually given to the nation’s top assistant coach.

In his first year on The Hill, Williams has transformed the Arkansas defense from a year ago. The Razorbacks have improved in nearly every defensive category, including total yards, rushing defense and passing defense while also leading the nation in defensive touchdowns with four. The Hogs have returned three interceptions for scores and Jaylon Braxton’s fumble return for a touchdown at Florida helped lead Arkansas to the program’s first-ever win at Florida.

Williams is one of 57 nominees up for the award that will be presented December 5 in Little Rock.
